It was overcast with temperatures in the mid-40s. I didn't expect to see many birds, but wanted to try out my new winter photography gloves (Vallerret Markhof 3.0), where the thumb and forefinger glove tips fold back to operate equipment. I was near the end of my hike when my first of season Brown Creeper flew right over my head and landed in a tree right in front of me!
