I'm re-posting a few photos from the past week taken here in Old Trail, as notice of today's report is going out to a larger audience, and I thought a few of the previously posted photos might be of interest.

We had light snow overnight, and it was quite blustery this morning with temperatures right at the freezing point with gusty winds. I ended up with only 21 avian species, as many of the smaller birds were hunkered down.
Near the beginning of my hike, I saw both of our resident Red-shouldered Hawks near the golf course pond, and they were trying to get warm in the sunlight. They should start mating in about two weeks and be sitting on eggs in their nest by mid to late March.

We have White-breasted Nuthatches here all the time, but seeing a Red-breasted Nuthatch here in Old Trail is a rare treat.
