Walt Childs and I headed west over the Blue Ridge and then north on Route 340. Our first stop was a Strickley Road where we saw about 10 Killdeers, a small flock of Bluebirds, and a Palm Warbler.

We made our way over country roads towards the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport. Along the way, we saw our second Red-tailed Hawk of the day. It flew from being perched on a wire, and then we noticed it wsa being chased by a Mockingbird!

We then saw a flying WWII bomber, and assumed that there was a WWII show going on at the airport.

Our next stop was at Leonard's Pond, where we saw Canada Geese, Mallards, Killdeers, and three Lesser Yellowlegs.

We then went to Hillandale Park in Harrisonburg, where we saw a good variety of avian species. Ruby-crowned Kinglets seemed to be everywhere there.
