I decided to stay close to home, and hiked a couple of miles near my house. Although I had 19 avian species, none were of particular note, other than my first-of-season Golden-crowned Kinglet.

Late in the afternoon, I read that a Northern Pintail x Mallard hybrid was seen and photographed in the Lickinghole Creek Reservoir.

I went over to Lickinghole Creek and Reservoir this morning to look for the hybrid duck, but I didn't see any ducks there at all - only a few Canada Geese, and some woodland birds. I saw 14 species, and the highlight was the resident Bald Eagle.

I drove over to Beaver Creek Reservoir to see if the ducks had re-located there, but that reservoir didn't have any birds in it at all. Same was true at the Old Trail golf course pond, but I did add eight more species for the day down at the wooded/grassland area near the soccer field.
