Stoney Creek (Wintergreen) 3/9/15

With sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-60's, the snow was melting fairly quickly, and I did a mid-afternoon hike here at home. There weren't too many birds out and about at this time of day, but the ones I saw seemed happy to be warmer surroundings.

White-breasted Nuthatch

Pileated Woodpecker

Turkey Vultures

The highlight of the hike for me was hearing my first-of-season (FOS) Pine Warbler singing in the small pine forest at the end of my street. It flew down towards me to say hello.
