I stayed close to home today here in the Rockfish Valley. In the morning, I went to the RV Trail. It was very quiet when I arrived. It has been less "birdy" for quite a while now, but it was really quiet this morning, and I suspected that a hawk might be perched nearby. Sure enough, after about ten minutes, some crows chased a Red-tailed Hawk from the trail, and more birds came out to forage for a meal. It still required quite a bit of work to get my target of 20 species there.

In the afternoon, I did a short hike here in Stoney Creek, and saw about a dozen species, including six species that I had not seen in the morning on the RV Trail.
