Song Sparrow
It was a cold November morning - 18 degrees at 7 a.m. I went to a few places in Crozet to see if the cold front had pushed any new birds into the area. My first stop was along Lickinghole Creek in Old Trail, and I saw a fair number of Sparrows - most were Song, but also some White-throated and a single Swamp Sparrow.

Lickinghole Creek and reservoir in Western Ridge was a little more birdy, but still, most of what I saw were Song and White-throated Sparrows, a Golden-crowned Kinglet, Cardinals, Titmice, Chickadees, and a couple of Red-bellied Woodpeckers. Three very cold-looking Killders were on the sand bar, three Wood Ducks were in the creek, and a Bald Eagle was in its nest on the far side of the reservoir.

All I saw at Beaver Creek reservoir were Dark-eyed Juncos, and a few White-crowned Sparrows were along the back country roads on the way home.
