Walt Childs and I headed up to the parkway to look for warblers. All of our favorite stops on the first 14 miles were fairly quiet. It seems as if the migrating warblers have passed through, and all we were seeing were the summer residents. There were quite a few American Redstarts, a single Hooded Warbler, and a pair of Black & White Warblers, in addition to the usual summer brids such as Scarlet Tanagers and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. The best bird of the morning was a Kentucky Warbler at the Rockfish Valley Overlook.
