Brown Creeper
It was competely overcast this morning, so I decided to take a 2-1/2 mile hike here in Stoney Creek. I didn't expect to get any good photos under the poor lighting conditions, but I carried my camera in my camera bag just in case I saw something unusual. About 1/3 of the way along my hike, I encountered a small flock (6?) of Golden-crowned Kinglets that were just above eye level and fairly close to me, but I already had lots of GC Kinglet photos. I then saw a Brown Creeper in the same trees, so I got out my camera to take a few photos. Of course, by that time, all of the GC Kinglets except one had flown away, and the remaining one flew high up in a tree.

A little farther down the hike, I saw three Turkey Vultures sitting on a roof top. Two of them were far from the third one. At first, I thought that the third one might have leucistic (lack of pigment) markings, but closer inspection suggests otherwise. Large flocks of Turkey and Black Vultures roost in the trees here, and it appears that this Turkey Vulture had purchased one of the cheap seats.

When I got home, I watched lots of birds at our feeder.

And then a couple of birds grabbed my attention. They looked to be a familiar species, but also different. Both of them were Purple Finches, but the female may have been an immature bird, as it had the most yellowish coloring that I have ever seen on this species. The other one was most certainly an immature male, as it still had a lot of its juvenile feathers, and was just starting to get its male crimson coloring.
