There are times when being the first one on the trail in the morning can be "fun" - my face was the equivalent of an ice-breaker when it came to spider webs. I arrived at the trail at 8:30 and stopped first at the second wooden bridge at the southern end of the Glenthorne Loop trail. Within one hour I had logged 17 species, including a rare Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, another Empidonax flycatcher that was probably a Willow, and a very cooperative Common Yellowthroat that let me take a lot of close-up photos.
