A cooler and drier weather front is moving through the area, and I wanted to see if any migratory birds had made it to the trail. I wasn't able to get there until 9:30 this morning, but there was good avian activity on the trail, and I logged 22 species in one hour. I didn't see any new migratory birds.

As soon as I crossed the first wooden bridge from the east side of Reids Creek, a Red-tailed Hawk flew from a nearby tree and landed some distance away along the downstream trail. Even at this distance, it appeared to be a very handsome bird, and then my opinion of its appearance changed as its ruffled it feathers. :-)

At the edge of the bog area just past Yellow Bird Thicket, I was greeted by a couple of interesting birds - a House Wren with a dark throat patch, and a White-eyed Vireo with its late morning breakfast.
