I headed over to the trail late this afternoon to see what might be there. I arrived at 4 p.m., and had an hour to do some birding before meeting Allen and Jeremy Hale to help them erect a kestrel box. I only saw 15 of the common species seen on the trail. |

I met Allen and Jeremy by the new kiosk on the east side of the first wooden bridge on the Glenthorne Loop trail. They already had the hole dug for the tall pole donated by our local electric co-op. It didn't take very long for the three of us to get the pole and kestrel box in place and properly oriented. Now all we need are the kestrels!

All while we were putting up the box, and for quite a while afterwards, a female Northern Harrier was searching the fields near us.
