This morning was just the opposite from yesterday morning. When I awoke, the sky was clear with only a few clouds, but by the time I got to the trail at 8:50 there was complete cloud cover. The Snow Goose is still here in Stoney Creek, hanging around with some Canada Geese, yesterday afternoon behind my neighbor's house (Sawmill Creek pond #4), and this morning behind my house (Sawmill Creek pond #5).

Although it was cloudy on the trail, it wasn't very cold, and there were a number of birds up and about. My target on the trail is 20 avian species in two hours, and I had my 20 species before the 1-1/2 hour mark, and then added 2 more species, although today was the first day in many months when I did not see a single Bluebird.

The 20th species this morning was a male American Kestrel, sitting on a powerline above the first field along the downstream trail.
