I decided to head over to a few sites in Crozet, VA, starting about mid-morning. I first went to the lake in the Western Ridge subdivision, and as I walked the trail along the creek to the lake, a Red-shoulered Hawk swooped down, grabbed something from the surface of the creek, and headed up to a tree. After processing the photos, it looks like it got a small frog.

On this trail and at the lake I saw another 14 species, including a Killdeer, a Kingfisher, Hermit Trush, and some other common winter species.

I then headed over to Mint Springs Park, but all I saw there was a Great Blue Heron and a couple of dozen Canada Geese. From there I stopped at the Old Trail golf course pond, and there were three Buffleheads in the pond.

My last Crozet stop was at the King Family vineyards, where there must have been at least 300 Canada Geese in and near their two wetlands ponds, and a single Yellow-bellied Sapsucker near the road where I stopped.
