Eastern Bluebird
I was able to get to the trail early this morning, arriving shortly after 8:00 - it was a beautiful day for birding - bright blue sky, although a bit chilly in the low 30's. The trail was just starting to awaken when I arrived. There were lots of Bluebirds and Dark-eyed Juncos everywhere. The juvenile Cooper's Hawk and adult Red-shouldered Hawk were on the downstream trail.

I saw four woodpecker species on the trail this morning: Downy, a pair of Pileated, Red-bellied, and several Flickers.

In addition to the 8 previously mentioned species, I saw another 14 species, bringing the morning count to 22 species.

On the way home, I stopped at some of the ponds in Stoney Creek to look for migrating waterfowl, but all I saw were a Great Blue Heron, a Kingfisher, and lots of Canada Geese.
