Little Brown(?) Bat
After yesterday's late afternoon walk in Stoney Creek looking for migrating waterfowl and the only animal of interest I saw was a bat flying over Sawmill Creek pond #3, I thought I would try the trail this afternoon to look for any unusual species. I am still trying to find American Pipits, American Tree Sparrows, Black-capped Chickadees, Horned Larks, and any of the owls that might be seen on the trail.
It was an unusual late November afternoon here - there was were light to moderate southwest winds, and it was 71 degrees when I arrived a little before 3:00 p.m. However, by 4:30, and after hiking almost 3 miles, I didn't see many birds on the trail - only 12 species, and most of the birds I saw were Bluebirds:

Song Sparrow
Field Sparrow
American Crow
Carolina Chickadee
Cedar Waxwing
Turkey Vulture
American Goldfinch
Dark-eyed Junco
Flicker
Kingfisher
Little Brown(?) Bat

Little Brown(?) Bat
Seems like mornings on the trail and in Stoney Creek this time of year may be better than late afternoons.
