Rockfish Valley Trail 10/19/10

I got to the trail at 8:30, but with daylight savings time still in effect, it was somewhat dark, and there was a lot more bird activity starting about 8:45 when sunlight started to fully illuminate the trail. Early on, crows were harrassing a Red-tailed Hawk and a Sharp-shinned Hawk; both were chased from the trail.

I was happy to see that eight of the sparrow species were still there, and I saw a pair of male Purple Finches - had seen a female on the trail a couple of days ago. The female Indigo Bunting was still hanging around as well. The two female Kingfishers that I photographed yesterday were still chasing each other. I logged 34 species in a couple of hours.
