After a very good morning on the Rockfish Valley Trail, I headed up to the Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch on Afton Mountain in the early afternoon. The raptors were still few and far between this autumn. All I saw were a few Red-tailed and Broad-winged Hawks and two Ospreys. One of the Ospreys did a fairly close approach, and checked out the hawk watchers before moving on south. Clouds moved in after 1-1/2 hours, so I headed home.
