Local area birders were invited to attend the 16th ANNUAL PURPLE MARTIN FIELD DAY in Louisa County, VA today:

Although I arrived late and missed some of the talks, it was still very worthwhile and I got some good photos of Purple Martins. I saw Purple Martins many times when I was living in St. Louis, but these are the first I have seen since then, and my first photos of this species.
